Contract for Services

Horses to Hamsters is a licensed business dedicated to providing the very best of pet care for Gainesville and surrounding areas.   We make an initial visit to your home or farm at no charge and walk thru the entire process with you so that we are absolutely clear on every aspect of your plan. While we are in your home, we take every precaution and insure that your pet is safely enclosed in the area you have chosen, and has food and water available.  We spend quality time with your pets while we are in your residence.  Your dog may like chasing balls, sticks etc. or a small dog, cat or bird may prefer cuddling and lots of attention.  You tell us what services you expect and we'll follow your plan exactly.

Each home visit is scheduled for approximately one half hour.  If you are one of our Premiere service customers, we will make three visits to your home each day and will spend approximately two hours with your pet(s).  If you choose a plan with one visit per day, you may add extra activities such as walks and grooming for additional fees.

Animal Health

We make every effort to get to know your pet and their personality.  We will assess your pet's overall condition when we visit, and if we feel your pet is exibiting signs of illness, we will contact your veterinarian.  By virtue of signing this contract, you are agreeing to cover all expenses of your pet's illness or injury.

                                                          Safety

All owners are expected to provide a sturdy collar and leash if walking is a desired activity.  However, please be aware that we will not walk dogs on or near a highway. Your area must have either a sidewalk or area ajacent to the roadway that is condusive to safely walking an animal.

For our large animal customers:  we provide pasture turnout for horses, however, we cannot insure the safety of your horse vs other horses or poor quality fences once in the pasture.

A horse exibiting signs of colic or other veterinary emergency will be treated by a licensed veterinarian.  We will gladly follow your vets advice, administer pain medication, walk and watch, however, we must charge accordingly for our time handling the situation at an hourly rate. If your horse is prone to colic, we will need to discuss items to have on hand during your absence.

   Animal anxiety

Some animals when left alone, will resort to destructive behavior in your home.  We cannot be held responsible for torn upholstry, wood chewing, accidents on carpet, etc.  We do suggest that you leave plenty of toys, chews and a radio or television on and you may even make a cassette tape of your voice and/or daily activities so we can play that tape for your pet when we leave.

Security

We make every effort to insure your home is secure.  We will check windows, entrances, outside buildings etc. to make sure they are locked.  We will alternate lights, pick-up your newspaper and mail and take messages off your answering machine if you like.  If you choose this option, you may call us daily, weekly, etc. and we will relay those messages to you and even make return phone calls(locally) for you if you deem necessary.  We will move your car to add the appearance that you are in residence, if we can do so safely without driving on the street.  For example, we can move it in or out of the garage, in the driveway, and on your private property.  While we make every attempt to help secure your property, we cannot be responsible for any theft or burglary that occurs during your absence.  We can call Law Enforcement, file a report and notify you of the incident.

  Valuables

We encourage our customers to lock all valuables in a safe, closet, room etc.  We can complete the security check from the outside of the house if you prefer.  We want you to feel comfortable entrusting your animals and home in our care.  We are in your home to complete specific tasks and nothing more.  Your privacy is our utmost concern!  We fill out your pet plan form daily and let you know exactly what we encountered each day. When you return, the copies are available for your perusal.  They will detail the time we arrived, left and the activities we performed.

                                                        Payment

Payment is due upon your arrival home or every two weeks.  The terms or payment amount is not negotiable unless we have failed in some way to provide the service that you requested.  We guarantee our service, however, we cannot be responsible for events(those listed above and others) which are beyond our control.  We will leave your bill on the last expected day of service, provided it is less than two weeks. We will provide an envelope for you or you may pay in advance. Please call our voicemail at 352-870-6624 when you return home or if your arrival is delayed, so that we can visit your home if necessary or cancel the service. A service fee of $5.00 will be charged if you do not notify us.  We do not cancel the service until we know you are home.

                                                      Special Circumstances

We also reserve the right to deny service in the event we feel our safety is compromised.  Vicious dogs, many stallions, snakes, spiders and animals with communicable disease are not candidates for our service.  The safety of your pets and ours is of utmost concern.  All dogs must have proof of vaccination for parvo virus.

                                                           Agreement

I have read the above Contract for Service in its entirety and have agreed to the terms stated.
